Hydrapep
For kids and adults
Make therapy fun!
Finding it hard to help your child? Fill Hydrapep with water, add some detergent and watch your little one enjoy making a volcano of bubbles!
Simple & effective
Using Hydrapep after taking your inhaler can help with distributing the medication through your lungs more effectively.
Exercises and clears lungs
Blowing into the resistance created by the water exercises your lungs and improves airflow, helping you clear phlegm.
Helping you and your family breathe better.
Hydrapep can help in the treatment of:
chesty coughs
asthma
COPD
cystic fibrosis
other respiratory illnesses.
It’s also a great way to keep lungs and airways clear through those Winter months.
How does it work?
PEP stands for Positive Expiratory Pressure. Blowing bubbles through the tubing into the water creates pressure in the lungs and airways, which helps keep them open. This helps to move more air in and out of the lungs. The vibration from the bubbles helps to break up the mucus (phlegm), and the increased air flow helps to move phlegm out of the lungs into the airways. From here, it can be coughed up more easily.
Hydrapep can also help in the delivery of bronchodilators (medication).
Can My Kids Use Hydrapep?
Best of all, Hydrapep can be fun! Hydrapep has proven to be incredibly popular with children. Encouraging your child to do their chest physio every day can be hard, so why not get creative?! Once you have the right level of water, remove the lid, add some detergent and food safe colours, and see how much fun (and mess!) your child can make of therapy time.
